Family University's upcoming event features Suzanne Aaron from the Arc of Illinois! Her presentation, “Who Does What? Acronyms in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) World” will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at noon on Zoom.
When navigating the disability benefits world, parents are surrounded by acronyms and lingo that can be overwhelming and confusing. This presentation will break down the major players (government agencies, state and federal programs, advocacy organizations, etc.), describe what they do, and define important acronyms involved. Knowing the programs and the acronyms involved can help build confidence for parents and self-advocates so that they can navigate these systems and know where to get help.
