From Nicole Magesis, TrueNorth’s Parent Engagement Facilitator:
My name is Nicole Magesis (MA-guh-sis). I grew up in New York state and most recently lived in New Jersey. In February of 2021, my husband, two little girls and I moved to the North Shore to be closer to our extended family. I graduated from New York University with my Masters in Social Work in 2011. Over the last decade, I have worked as a case manager/social worker for children with disabilities and their families for New Jersey’s Special Child Health Services and the NJ Early Intervention System. When I am not working, I love to spend time with my family, read, cook, watch Miami Hurricanes football (Go Canes!) and play with my dog, Callie.
As I embark on this new role, I hope to bring my love for advocating, educating and supporting families to the TrueNorth community and our member districts. I am an avid researcher and believe that we should never stop learning. I look forward to collaborating with parents, staff and member districts!
