Daily Self Certification
Are staff and students required to self-certify for COVID-19 symptoms every work and/or school day?
TrueNorth continues to require self certification for staff members and students on a daily basis before coming to work/school.
- Staff members and families receive a CrisisGo email at 5 a.m. each school day.
- If a staff member or student is not symptomatic, no certification is required. The individual’s attendance at work or school is an attestation that the individual is symptom free.
- If a staff member or student is experiencing any COVID-19 related symptoms, the staff member, parent/guardian or student (if over the age of 18) must complete the certification report by clicking the blue Report button in the email, before 7 a.m. each day that symptoms are present, regardless of whether the individual plan to come to work or school that day. Please complete it even if you or your child are staying home from work or school for any reason.
- Upon the report submission, the individual will receive a message advising him/her to remain home and await contact from Health Services staff. All submissions are automatically reported to the appropriate building administrators.
- Individuals with questions about the COVID-19 certification process, should contact Health Services staff.
- For technical issues related to the certification form, please contact Bill Mierisch, Systems Integration Specialist, at wmierisch@truenorth804.org.

Vaccinations and Testing
What are the vaccination and testing requirements for staff members and students?
TrueNorth staff members must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or provide weekly negative COVID-19 test results. Vaccinated staff should upload proof of vaccination to CrisisGo or send it to the Human Resource Department.
To facilitate contact tracing and reduce any unnecessary quarantines, TrueNorth requests that families of eligible students who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 provide proof of vaccination to the TrueNorth nursing staff.
-
Masks
Are staff members and students required to wear masks in TrueNorth buildings?
TrueNorth strongly recommends, but does not require, individuals to wear masks in TrueNorth buildings. Free face coverings are available for staff and students upon request.
-
Transportation
What are the transportation protocols related to COVID-19?
For TrueNorth-owned and contracted transportation services, an emphasis is placed on:
- limiting the number of riders per vehicle to maintain safety and distancing:

- one student per bench on buses
- maintaining sanitized student transportation equipment

Contact Tracing
Does TrueNorth engage in contract tracing?
TrueNorth staff conduct in contact tracing as appropriate and directed by the health department. Contact tracing supports the identification of positive cases within the TrueNorth community and close contacts which occur during school. Nursing staff will report to State and local health department(s) positive cases as directed by State officials, State and Federal law and local health department guidance. School officials will or may notify, to the extent allowable by applicable privacy laws, teachers, staff, and families of students who were close contacts as soon as possible (within the same day if possible) after they are notified that someone in the school has tested positive.
-
Social Distancing
What are the social distancing practices?
Social or physical distancing of 3 feet within classrooms will be maintained to the extent possible to reduce transmission risk.
Social distancing is measured as the distance between individuals, mouth to mouth.
- TrueNorth may consider increasing social distancing when community transmission levels are substantial or high or other contributing factors are present.
- Staff and students should limit physical contact, e.g, handshakes, high fives, or hugs.
- Non compliance by students or staff will be managed consistent with District policy, procedure, and practice.
